2. Technique Introduction & Informed Consent (5 minutes)
- Technique Options:
- Based on the client's goal and preferences, present 2-3 relevant NLP techniques.
- Example 1 (Presentation Anxiety): "We could explore anchoring to create a feeling of calm, or we could work with reframing to shift your perspective on presentations. Which one resonates with you more?"
- Example 2 (Social Confidence): "Visualizations can be helpful in building confidence, or we could use submodality work to change how you internally experience social situations. What feels most appealing?"
- Explain Chosen Technique:
- Clearly and simply describe the chosen technique (e.g., anchoring, visualization, reframing).
- "Anchoring involves associating a desired feeling with a touch or word so you can access it easily."
- Obtain Consent:
- "Would you be open to trying this technique? You have the right to stop at any time."
3. Technique Implementation & Exploration (15 minutes)
- Guided Practice:

- Anchoring Example: Have them access a resourceful state, set an anchor, test the anchor, and practice using it in different contexts.
- Visualization Example: Guide them through creating a vivid, multi-sensory visualization of themselves successfully navigating the target situation.
- Client Feedback:
- "How are you feeling as we're doing this?"
- "What are you noticing in your body/mind?"
